We were back home for Megan’s actual birthday so we had a little party at home. Lauren and I made a cake and cupcakes. Megan was still grumpy from the trip but enjoyed the cake experience a little more this time.
She was super at her doctor’s appointment. She weighed 19lbs 2oz which was the 25%ile, and she was 29inches tall which is the 50%ile.
It took about 2 weeks to ween her completely. We had to put the whole milk into a bottle (which she never had much before) and warm it up to get her to drink it. About a week later I tried to nurse her to relieve my pressure but she would have none of it! It was easy then to switch from the bottle to the sippy cup and she’s never looked back. Yay!!!

Daddy came down towards the end of our trip for Megan’s birthday party. Aunt Marilyn hosted the party at her house so all the kids could swim and Mor Mor and Aunt Wendy supplied all of the food. We had a super time. Megan wouldn’t nap that day (sleeping down in FL was a nightmare the whole trip) so when it was finally time for cake she was really not in the mood.

Well, I’m way behind on my blogging so let me quickly catch up. We spent almost three weeks in Palm Coast in late June-early July. We spent have the time at Mor Mor’s and Grandpa’s and the other half at Nana’s house. We went to see the beach (which was scary for mom because the ocean was quite rough and Lauren is sooo brave), Marineland, and just visiting with everyone. It was a great time, but a little long. I think we’ll stay for less than three weeks next summer.

A bird built a nest where we hang the hose and sprinkler. We’ve been keeping an eye on them and they seem to be doing fine. Last week Gerry the cat brought in two wrens (one dead, one somewhat alive - thanks, Don, for helping get him out of the house!). I was worried that one of the birds was the mommy bird. Alas, the babies seem to be doing well. Hopefully they’ll stay clear of Gerry.

As of June 1 Megan has stopped crawling and is walking 99% of the time. She is still unsteady at times, but she can move quickly when she wants to. She also started waving on Friday (June 2). Today she saw the stairs in the basement and knew just how to climb up them. She’s going to be a monkey-girl just like Lauren!
