Megan’s 2!

September 1st, 2007

Well, we finally had Megan’s 2 year appt with Dr. G. It was so hard to get an appointment, I just made Lauren and Megan joint appointments and that worked out well. Megan is 26 lbs (40%) and 33 7/8″ (30%). She got her one shot and laughed the whole time.

Megan is such a funny kid. She is very funny. And she talks up a storm! We had open house at Winters Chapel on Thursday. Megan is a Luck Duck this year with Miss Diane (from Games Galore) and Miss Geraldine (from Lauren’s Busy Bee days). I tried to explain to her how this will work but she thinks I should stay. So . . . Tuesday isn’t going to go well. But hopefully it will only take a few days to get the hang of things. We’ll see.

Megan *loves* to sit on the potty. She is pretty much poopy potty trained, but not tinkle yet. Sometimes we have to get ready to go somewhere and you just can’t get her off that potty! I tried to clean the potty seat and put it away so she would start using the big potty, but she cried. So of course I brought it back out.

Lauren’s Speech Evaluation.

June 9th, 2007

Dekalb County called last week and had a cancellation the next day at 9am (Friday) for a speech evaluation. Our original appointment was for August 28th so this is much better. They tested her eyesight, hearing, and all kinds of weird things like walking on a line, jumping, and putting beads on a string. The result is that she is fine with all of those things but below average in speech. So we’ll go back at the end of June for an “articulation evaluation” and then I go back at the end of July for a parent conference. Can they string this out any longer? Sheesh.

Yawn! I just woke up from my nap.

Megan was talking in her sleep this morning at 5am. “Daddy. Ball! Ball. Daddy” and so forth. So the Fitzgerald sleeptalking line continues on. Lauren has done it a few times but not lately.

We had muffins with Mom this week at school so that was nice. Megan’s class was terrorized and looked like deer in the headlights. Then once one wanted mommy they all did. But that’s about you’d expect. It was very cute.

Gerry is fighting with some stray cat. Sigh. Not sure what to do about that. And Pat has been working *all* the time to get this project at TNT done. If he’s home before 7:30pm I consider that early. He has brought some work home this weekend, but at least he’s not going in so that’s nice. Not sure what we’re doing for mother’s day yet, other than maybe dinner tonight. I’m just glad to every around and happy and healthy.

Lauren’s Nursemaid’s Elbow

January 28th, 2007

After a nice day at the zoo (MLK Day - Jan 15) with Uncle Glenn, Glenn and Lauren were horsing around. Lauren’s arm got pulled just the wrong way and out popped that elbow again. I think the first time it happened she was about 20 months old and now she’s about 40 months old. We thought we were passed all this, but I guess not. So Lauren and I went off to see Dr. G while Glenn stayed home with the napping Megan. Dr. G popped it back in and showed me how to do it as well (yeah, right). Then she was good as new.

My little Einstein

January 11th, 2007

TV must not be all bad. The other day I was listening to some Beethoven and when “Für Elise” came on Lauren ran up and shouted “It’s the Little Einsteins moosic!”
